Mangaluru, Dec 23: On the threshold of the Jubilee Year 2025, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the bishop of Mangalore, shared a profound Christmas message centred on ‘Truth, Transparency, and Ethical Living’. The message was delivered during an interaction with journalists and media representatives at the Bishop's House, Kodialbail.
Addressing the media, the bishop emphasised that Christmas offers a unique opportunity to reaffirm the values of justice and harmonious coexistence at a time when society faces increasing challenges of violence, deceit, and misinformation. He expressed serious concern over the erosion of truth in the public sphere and the growing threats to fundamental rights.
















"Safeguarding truth, transparency, and ethical values is not merely a legal obligation; it is a fundamental pillar of society's future," the bishop stated. He issued a call to action for all citizens, elected representatives, and government institutions to cultivate integrity and people-centred accountability.

Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha will preside over the solemn Mass at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Cathedral, Rosario, Mangaluru, on Wednesday, December 24 at 7:15 pm. The bishop will celebrate Mass at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, on December 25 at 6 am.
Concluding his message, the Bishop prayed that the Jubilee Year 2025 bring a ‘new ray of hope’ and that the light of love and truth dispel the darkness of hatred and fear across the nation.
