Karkala, Dec 29: A series of accidents occurred on the National Highway passing in front of the Nitte Grama Panchayat on Monday morning, December 29, leaving a pedestrian critically injured.
The mishap involved two cars and a lorry transporting eggs, all of which were damaged in the collision. Due to the impact, a pedestrian was struck by one of the vehicles and sustained severe injuries, with his leg reportedly crushed.
Following the accident, the egg-laden lorry overturned in the middle of the road, resulting in traffic disruption for some time along the busy highway stretch.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Karkala Rural police station, and further investigation is under way.
