Udupi: Kasturba Hospital to launch Manipal Integrated Liver & Transplant Clinic

Udupi, Jan 2: Kasturba Hospital, Manipal is set to introduce the Manipal Integrated Liver & Transplant Clinic, a dedicated initiative designed to bring advanced, coordinated liver care closer to patients in the region. The clinic will be held on Tuesday, January 6, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.

Led by Dr Jayanth Reddy, consultant liver transplant surgeon, and Dr Shruthi H S Reddy, consultant hepatologist, from Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bengaluru, along with Dr Ganesh Bhat professor and head department of gastroenterology and Dr Shiran Shetty, professor of gastroenterology at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, the clinic aims to support early diagnosis, timely intervention, and seamless long-term care. For the first time, liver transplant-related services—including transplant evaluation, treatment planning, and structured follow-up—will be available at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.

Patients with fatty liver disease, chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, jaundice, ascites, liver tumours or cancer, liver failure complications, those advised transplant evaluation, children with liver disorders, and patients needing post-treatment or post-transplant follow-up are encouraged to attend.

This initiative is supported by Dr Sudhakar Kantipudi, chief operating officer, Manipal Cluster, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen access to specialised liver care for patients from coastal Karnataka, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and neighbouring regions.
