Udupi: Fire set by mentally disturbed person on private land, major mishap averted

Udupi, Jan 6: A major mishap was averted on Monday afternoon after a mentally disturbed person allegedly set fire to a private plot of land near the Sri Krishna Math area in Udupi.

According to sources, the individual set fire to a private property, causing the flames to spread rapidly. As the land is located close to a school and residential houses, panic prevailed in the area for a brief period.

However, no injuries or casualties were reported.

Local residents immediately alerted the Fire and Emergency Services, following which fire personnel rushed to the spot. With their timely intervention, and assistance from social workers Nithyananda Volkadu and Girish Kanchan, the fire was brought under control, preventing it from spreading further.

    Mentally disturbed?I dont think so.I am sure some are bit jealous too seeing the richness of other people and drink alcohol and want to destroy ?
