Bantwal, Jan 11: A youth from Koila in Rayi grama panchayat limits has been reported missing after he left home on January 7 saying he was going to BC Road.

The missing person has been identified as Shaun Francis Sequeira (29), a resident of Koila, Rayi.

According to the complaint, Shawn left home around 12 noon on January 7 stating that he would go to BC Road and return. At about 2.30 pm, he spoke to his sister over the phone. He usually returned home by around 7.30 pm every day, but did not come back that night. When family members tried to contact him later, his mobile phone was found to be switched off.

Enquiries with relatives, neighbours, and friends also yielded no information about his whereabouts.

In her complaint, Shaun’s mother Flavy Sequeira stated that he had been working in the trading market for the past five years. He would take money from friends, invest it in the share market, return the profits to them, and keep a portion for his expenses.

She further stated that he had been incurring losses frequently in these transactions and would share his concerns with his sister. It was also mentioned that he had borrowed money from friends for further investments.

Bantwal Rural police have registered a case and are investigating the matter to trace the missing youth.
