Kundapur, Jan 24: A 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed on the spot in a tragic road accident involving two private buses at the Shetrakatte junction on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Devadiga, a resident of Saukuru. Vijay, who ran a fast-food outlet in Thrasi, was riding his motorcycle from Thrasi towards Saukuru when the incident occurred.
According to sources, while attempting to overtake a private bus at the Shetrakatte junction, Vijay collided head-on with another private bus approaching from the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in critical injuries and instant death.
The local police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
