Mumbai, Feb 3: Riding high on the Republic Day holiday week, Sunny Deol-starrer Border 2 opened to a thunderous response at the box office after its release on January 23, 2026. While the war drama maintained strong momentum in its first week and continued to post double-digit figures thereafter, it witnessed a significant drop in earnings on its second Monday.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 collected Rs 5.75 crore on Day 11, marking a sharp decline compared to the weekend figures. With this, the film’s total domestic box office collection has reached Rs 281 crore, while its worldwide earnings stand at Rs 380.75 crore.

The spiritual sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border opened with Rs 30 crore and saw a massive surge on Republic Day, raking in Rs 59 crore. The film amassed Rs 224.25 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 10.75 crore on the second Friday, Rs 17.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 22.5 crore on Sunday, before slowing down on Monday.

The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.31 per cent on Monday, February 2, indicating a weekday slowdown after a strong holiday run.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in lead roles. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the film narrates multiple stories from different battlefronts, expanding the scope beyond the original film.

The cast also includes Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Anya Singh in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Nidhi Dutta, daughter of veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, who directed the original Border.
