Puttur Feb 12: A pickup vehicle overturned at Kanaraje in Tekkara village on Wednesday February 11, resulting in the death of the driver.
The pickup was transporting centering work materials when the incident occurred. The vehicle reportedly overturned from the upper road onto the lower road. Hemachandra (32), son of Harishchandra and a resident of Alakke, who was in the vehicle, sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Another occupant, Ummarabba (51), who was also in the pickup, sustained injuries and has been admitted to hospital.
The deceased Hemachandra was unmarried and was the sole breadwinner of his family.
A case has been registered at the Puttur traffic police station in connection with the incident.
