Bengaluru, Feb 16: Passengers carrying luggage on KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses will now have to pay higher charges, with revised rates coming into force from Monday, February 16, the corporation announced.
KSRTC managing director Akram Pasha stated: “From February 16, the revised luggage rates for passenger travel on our buses will be applicable. The increase has been necessitated due to rising diesel, staff and operational costs.”

He added that the last increase in luggage charges was in 2021. “Since then, although ticket fares were revised, luggage rates had remained unchanged,” he said.
The revised luggage charges released by KSRTC are as follows: Rs 6 for 1 to 5 stages, Rs 12 for 6 to 12 stages, and Rs 145 for 156 to 160 stages.
Passengers are advised to take note of the new rates when travelling on KSRTC buses with luggage.
The corporation said the revision aims to offset increased operational costs while continuing to provide safe and reliable bus services across the state.
