New Delhi, Feb 16: American rapper and producer Kanye West, now known as Ye, is set to perform in India for the first time, headlining a major concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on March 29.
The much-anticipated show promises a grand-scale production featuring immersive stage design, large-format cinematic visuals, and high-end sound engineering. Organisers say the setlist will span Ye’s extensive career, blending early breakthrough tracks with more recent hits.

Born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago, Ye left college to pursue music and first gained prominence as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, co-founded by Jay-Z. He became known for his distinctive “chipmunk soul” production style before launching his own recording career. His debut album, The College Dropout, was met with critical acclaim, while Late Registration marked his first of eleven albums to top the US Billboard 200 chart.
Over the years, Ye has delivered multiple chart-topping singles, including Slow Jamz, Gold Digger, Stronger, E.T. (as a featured artist), and Carnival. He is also recognised as the first rapper to achieve Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits across three decades.
With an estimated 160 million records sold worldwide and 24 Grammy Awards to his name, Ye ranks among the most decorated artists in music history. Time has listed him among the world’s 100 most influential people, while Rolling Stone included several of his albums — such as Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Yeezus — in its “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list.
Promoter Aman, founder of White Fox, described the upcoming concert as a landmark moment. He said the aim is to create a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, adding that efforts are being made to ensure more fans can witness what is being billed as one of the biggest live music events ever staged in India.
Sabbas Joseph, co-founder and director of Wizcraft International, noted that India’s live entertainment industry has evolved significantly in recent years. Hosting an artist of Ye’s global stature at this scale, he said, reflects the country’s readiness to deliver world-class productions that resonate internationally.
