Kundapur: Short circuit triggers fire at online service centre near Thekkatte National Highway

Kundapur, Feb 17: A fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit at Ashlesha Online Service Centre, which had been functioning for the past one year at Kannukere Srinavashakti Kalyana Mantap along Thekkatte National Highway 66 here. The incident occurred at around 9.15 pm on Monday February 16, completely gutting the materials kept inside the shop.

As usual, the shop owner Phaniraj Hathwar Koravadi had locked the shop and returned home when an electrical short circuit occurred, resulting in the computer, printer, stationery items, inverter battery, chairs, tables and other equipment inside the shop being completely destroyed in the fire. The loss is estimated to be over Rs 6 lac.

As soon as the incident occurred, a team of youths including Vadiraj Ganiga of Kannukere, Karthik, Shekhar Devadiga, Bharat and Vignesh assisted in dousing the fire. Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Kundapur rushed to the spot and succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
