Mangaluru: Surathkal police trace lost mobile phones, return them to owners

Mangaluru, Feb 19: Surathkal police have succeeded in tracing lost mobile phones and have returned 138 mobiles, for which complaints had been registered since 2023, to 48 rightful owners.

Members of the public who had lost their mobile phones had registered complaints through the Central Equipment Identity Register or by submitting the IMEI number of their phones. Some had also lodged complaints at nearby police stations.

Under the leadership of the concerned departmental officer, the technical staff worked with the help of the portal to trace the mobiles and take them into custody. Surathkal police station police inspector Pramod Kumar handed over the mobile phones.

Station officials and staff were present on the occasion.
