Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Feb 27: A major fire mishap resulted in a private guest house being completely gutted at Hoode on Friday, February 27 evening.

The incident occurred while the guests who had rented the premises were away. It is suspected that an electrical short circuit triggered the blaze, which quickly spread throughout the structure.

Firefighters from Malpe and Udupi rushed to the spot upon receiving the alert and managed to bring the flames under control, preventing them from spreading to neighbouring properties. However, the interiors of the guest house were completely destroyed in the incident.

No casualties or injuries were reported as the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The exact extent of the financial loss is yet to be estimated.
