Mangaluru: Man falls into well during cleaning work, rescued by fire personnel

Mangaluru, March 17: A 44-year-old man was rescued after accidentally falling into a well while cleaning its surroundings at Mulihithlu–Bolara in Mangaluru.

The injured man has been identified as Panchappa, a native of Savadatti taluk. He was engaged in clearing waste and debris around a well in the area when the rope he was using suddenly snapped, causing him to fall into the well.

Upon receiving information, officials and personnel from the Pandeshwar Fire Station rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. One of the firemen descended into the well and safely brought the injured man to the surface.

Panchappa, who sustained injuries in the incident, was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
