Karkala: Young rider killed after tipper lorry rams motorcycle

Karkala, Mar 20: A 27-year-old youth lost his life in a tragic road accident after a tipper lorry rammed into his motorcycle from behind near Palli Adapadi in Karkala on Thursday March 19.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Nayak (27), a resident of Kujambailu in Hiriyadka.

Ganesh Nayak was riding his motorcycle towards Hampankatte when the accused, allegedly driving the tipper lorry at high speed in a rash and negligent manner, collided with the bike from the rear. Due to the impact, Ganesh Nayak fell onto the road along with his motorcycle.

It is said that the rear wheel of the tipper lorry ran over his head, despite him wearing a helmet, causing severe injuries. He died on the spot.

A case has been registered at the Karkala Town police station, and further investigation is underway.
