Mangaluru: Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated at Expert College in Valachil

Mangaluru, Mar 22: The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, was celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil. Dr U T Ifthikar Fareed, chairman, Karnataka State Allied and Healthcare Council, ministry of medical education, government of Karnataka, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, he expressed delight to be part of the festivity and opined that the students of Expert are privileged because the institution is top-notch in Karnataka. He noted that it is an extraordinary achievement that more than 50 per cent of the students from the institution enter the medical stream every year. He lauded the management for their efforts in creating an essence of Indian culture on the campus, stating that such celebrations bring unity and strengthen society.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, presided over the function. He praised Dr U T Ifthikar as a man of great achievements and action. He extended Eid greetings to all and emphasised the need to respect each other’s beliefs and live in harmony.

Ustad Rafique Khan, trustee, presented the message of Eid. Subramanya Udupa, vice principal (academics), introduced the chief guest and welcomed the dignitaries. Ankush N Nayak, IT director; Deepika A Nayak, architect; Yasin, president of Arkula gram panchayat; Dhruthi V Hegde, vice principal (administrative); Anitha P Shetty, CRM; Gurudath N, coaching head; Shivappa S P, programme director, and members of the staff were present.

Cultural programmes were performed by the students. Yashitha U Raj hosted the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
