Bengaluru, Mar 25: The High Court of Karnataka has passed an interim order directing the authorities not to implement the externment of Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi from Dakshina Kannada district to Manvi taluk in Raichur district until March 26.

The order comes in connection with a writ petition filed by Thimarodi challenging the externment order issued against him for the third time. The matter was heard on Tuesday by a single-judge bench of Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum.

After hearing the submissions of High Court advocate M R Balakrishna, appearing for the petitioner, the bench directed the government to defer the execution of the externment order until March 26.

The court also ordered issuance of notices to the respondents, including the Secretary of the State Home Department, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Puttur, the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Bantwal, and the Sub-Inspector of Belthangady police station.

Further hearing in the case has been adjourned.
