Addressing the gathering, Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha said that learning the basics of science is very important for developing diagnostic skills. He said that with good skills, doctors can give the right medicine and communicate properly with patients. He added that in the medical field, students will often have to work in a detailed manner, and sometimes mistakes may happen, which are part of learning and experience.
He further advised students to always learn beyond what is taught in the classroom. Professors teach many important things, but students should continue reading, observing, and practising on their own. He emphasized that while some things are taught, many are learned through experience and self-learning, and encouraged students to never stop learning.
The programme also included a felicitation ceremony, where workers who contributed to the construction and completion of the new premises were honoured for their service. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the college anthem.
Meanwhile, the Father Muller Complex at Deralakatte was inaugurated within the premises of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital. The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, clergy, and members of the public.
