Udupi: Three women admitted to state shelter as relatives remain untraced

Udupi, Apr 4: Three women who had recovered after receiving treatment for mental illness have been admitted to the State Women’s Shelter at Nittur after their relatives could not be traced.

Over the past one-and-a-half months, Khushiya (30) from Uttar Pradesh, who was found within the jurisdiction of Kaup police station, Anita (35) from Maharashtra under Manipal police station limits, and Jayanti Poojary (45) from Aatradi under Hiriyadka police station limits, were rescued by Vishu Shetty of Ambalpady.

The women responded well to treatment and have now returned to a normal state and have been discharged from the hospital. They were treated by doctors Dr Vasudev, Dr Sunil, and ECRC Suresh.

As their relatives could not be traced, following police and legal procedures, Vishu Shetty admitted all three women to the State Women’s Shelter at Nittur. In a release, an appeal has been made for the relatives of these women to contact the State Women’s Shelter.
