Mangaluru: M G Road bridge work postponed to October due to monsoon

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 4: The proposed construction of a new bridge over the stormwater drain near TMA Pai Hall on the busy MG Road has been postponed to October in view of the monsoon season.

Earlier, the city police had announced major traffic diversions for a period of two months from March 30 to May 30 following the commencement of the project.

As per the plan, only one-way traffic was to be permitted from PVS Junction toward Lalbagh, while vehicles moving from Lalbagh toward PVS were to follow designated alternative routes.

The revised traffic plan had outlined routes for different categories of vehicles and also no-parking zones had also been declared.

With the project now deferred due to the onset of the monsoon, the proposed traffic restrictions and diversions will not be implemented until the work resumes in October.
