Udupi: Renowned photographer Ganesh Mendon ends life at Sasthan

Udupi, Apr 5: Ganesh Mendon, a well-known photographer and a native of Pandeshwar in Sasthan, reportedly ended his life in the early hours of Sunday, April 5.

Ganesh Mendon was an active member of the South Kanara Photographers’ Association (SKPA), Udupi unit, and was deeply involved in its various activities. Known for his sporting spirit, he was a skilled wicket-keeper who had represented the SKPA Udupi cricket team in several tournaments over the past 18 years. Most recently, he had participated in a cricket tournament held in Shivamogga on Sunday, March 27.

Known for his leadership qualities and brave personality, Mendon was a friendly and well-regarded figure within the photographers' fraternity. The exact reason behind his extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

Brahmavar police visited the spot and have conducted an initial enquiry. Further details are awaited.
