Mangaluru, May 8: The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), in association with the Rotary Club of Mangalore North, organised the MSNIM–Rotary Biz Quiz 2026 on Monday, May 5, at its campus in Bondel, Mangaluru. The quiz witnessed participation from over 2,000 students representing 45 colleges in the preliminary round. A total of 83 students from 11 undergraduate colleges across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts qualified for the finale.
Dhavala College, Moodbidri, emerged as the winner, while Besant Evening College, Mangaluru, secured the second place. Among the winning teams, Sudarshan Nayak, Lavina Santhumayor, Archana Acharya, Shivadarshan and Ajay represented Dhavala College, Moodbidri; Anirudh, Nisma Ayath, Ameen, Arun and Jeevan represented Besant Evening College, Mangaluru.










The quiz was conducted in multiple rounds, beginning with preliminary rounds in participating colleges, followed by selection rounds leading to the finals at MSNIM campus. The event tested participants on business awareness, current affairs and analytical thinking. Sachin R Chandra, assistant professor and MCom coordinator at Manipal School of Commerce and Economics, (MAHE), was the quizmaster.
Rotarian major donor Dr Shivaprasad K, medical superintendent, Yenepoya Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. K V Raghav Kamath, joint correspondent, MSNIM, and Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, director, MSNIM, were present as guests of honour. Other dignitaries included Mohan Nair, immediate past president of Rotary Club of Mangalore North, along with Rotary members TG Shenoy, Raghavan, N K Subraya Prabhu, Ganesh Hegde and Shambhavi Prabhu.
In his address, Dr Shivaprasad K appreciated the continued collaboration between MSNIM and the Rotary Club in organising quiz competitions since 2015. “Competitions promote learning and bring out the best in participants,” he said, commending the organisers, particularly the Rotaract Club of MSNIM, for successfully conducting the event within a year of its formation. He also acknowledged the role of Rotary in contributing to community development through such initiatives.
MBA student Arpitha, president of the Rotaract Club of MSNIM, welcomed the gathering. A report on the quiz was presented by Slagan, committee member of the Rotaract Club. Assistant professor Nanditha Sunil announced the prize winners. Sinchana, committee member of the Rotaract Club, proposed the vote of thanks, while Sneha, MBA student, compered the programme. The event was coordinated by assistant professors Sukesh Rao Pejavar and Sanath Bhandarkar.
