Bicholim, May 11: Pramod Sawant on Sunday reaffirmed the Goa government’s commitment to balanced rural development, stating that equal importance is being given to infrastructure growth and human welfare across every village in the state.
Addressing residents during a programme in Falwada Ward No. 3 of Kudne village in the Sanquelim constituency, the Chief Minister said the government is investing significant funds to ensure better public facilities and timely completion of development projects throughout Goa.

He said the administration is working to ensure that no welfare project remains incomplete and that development reaches people at the grassroots level without delay.
Sawant also underlined the cultural and social importance of village temples, saying they serve as centres for preserving traditions, promoting unity among residents, and strengthening communal harmony. According to him, religious festivals and spiritual gatherings contribute to maintaining peace and brotherhood within villages.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated several public development initiatives in Kudne village. These included the commencement of pond construction works within the premises of the Mauli Temple under the Water Resources Department, beautification work at the Ganpati immersion site, and the bhoomi pujan ceremony for a new shed at the temple complex.
He praised the efforts of the Kudne Panchayat members for actively addressing public concerns and accelerating local development works according to the needs of residents.
The programme was attended by District Panchayat member Mahesh Sawant, Kudne Sarpanch Damodar Petkar, Deputy Sarpanch Deepika Naik, Panchayat member Rajan Phalkar, engineer Abhishek, Tejeshwini Gaonkar, Vinod Bhandari, Secretary Sujata Morajkar, Swayampurna Mitra, Deepak Gaonkar, members of the Mauli Devasthan Committee, and residents from Falwada and Kudne villages, among others.
Several local leaders, including Mahesh Sawant, Damodar Petkar and Rajan Phalkar, congratulated the Chief Minister for initiating the new development projects in the area.
The occasion also marked the 11th anniversary celebrations of Goddess Mauli, during which religious purification rituals known as Archa-Shuddhi, along with cultural and spiritual programmes, were organised in Falwada Ward No. 3.
Following the event, the chief minister offered prayers at the temple seeking prosperity, peace and overall development for the village as well as the state of Goa.
