Mangalore, May 12: After controversial anti-Hindu remarks in Upendra and Ramya starrer ‘Katari Veera Surasundarangi’ (the first full length 3D film made in Kannada) came under the scanner of VHP and Bajarang Dal leaders and the stopping of the screening of the movie in coastal districts, led its producer Munirathna with distributor Rockline Venkatesh and others to land in the city on Saturday May 12 to have discussion with Sangh Parivar leaders M B Puranik, Gopal Kutthar, Jagadeesh Shenav, Sharan Pumpwell, and Jithesh Kottari among others.

Though discussion started at around 8 pm, no compromise developed until the Pejavar Mutt Swami Vishvesha Theertha called Puranik on phone and informed him that he would watch the movie in a separate arrangement to be made in Bangalore on Monday May 14.

Agreeing to this, Munirathna insisted that the movie should be allowed to be screened till Monday. However, the Sangh Parivar stuck to the decision that they would not allow to screen the movie until the scenes that are hurting Hindu sentiments are removed from it.

The producer of the movie said that if the film is banned, it would hamper the movie shows in other districts too as viewers would not turn at the theatres fearing disturbance.

Finally, the movie team left the venue (VHP office near PVS) stating that on Monday, arrangements will be made in Bangalore to show the movie to the Pejavar Swamiji.
