Rabat, Oct 1 (IANS): Canadian aircraft builder Bombardier will start a manufacturing unit in Morocco with a $200 million investment next year, the Moroccan trade minister said.
By 2020, Bombardier's Casablanca unit will create 850 skilled jobs, Xinhua Sunday quoted Industry and Trade Minister Abdelkader Amara as saying.
The Bombardier Aerospace, which also has presence in the US, Mexico and Ireland, will open the Morocco unit in January 2013.
It will be opened in a free trade zone that is offering a five-year financial incentive, including no taxes, 8.75 percent for another 20 years and 17.5 percent thereafter.
Many international aviation companies have set up manufacturing units in Morocco. The volume of exports of this sector has increased to $1 billion in 2011.
