Mumbai, Feb 11: Kenny Zuzarte's eighth Konkani Album was released on February 10 at St Paul's School Ground, near Hindmata Cinema, Parel, Mumbai,on the occasion of the 11th Konkani Carnival of Maharashtra Konkani Kala Sanstha.
Kenny, who was dressed in the character of 'Queen Mimi' at the Carnival, called upon Kevin Santosh Nazareth, an entrepreneur from Dubai, who has always been a great support for Kenny, as this is Kenny's second album which he has sponsored, the earlier one being ‘Crazy Kelai Re’.
Kenny also invited Joan Soares, who had been his school teacher at St Xavier's High School, Dhobitalao, Mumbai, along with Lawrence Coelho, editor of 'Divo' and 'Secular Citizen' to do the honours.
Kenny thanked the Konkani speaking audience from all over the world for their love and support. He also thanked his musicians, ‘Day Breakers’, who have rendered music to seven of his eight albums, while not forgetting to thank his lyricists, singers and everyone else who has helped him in the making of the audio album.
This album has 12 songs, which includes 1 Tulu song, titled ‘Musambi Leela’, it also has ‘Italian Burgo’, a song sung by 20 singers. 16 of them are children of yesteryear artistes.
They are Capucina (late C Alvares), Lara (Antonette and Late Romeo Mendes), Alria (Rita and late Alfred Rose), Babli (Mohana, Ophelia and Late Bab Peter), Jennifer (Bella and late Saby Coutinho), Candy (late Philomena Braz), Julius (late Cruz Noronha), Felcy (late Rom Tony), Risma (Meena and Late Christopher Leitao), Jr. Nelson (late Nelson Afonso), Monica (late Gabru Gomes), Ravi (late PREM KUMAR), Salida (Carrie Fernandes), Zubin (Saby Fernandes) and Sheanella and Krishangi (Kenny).
The other four being Kenneth Dias, Betty Naz, Carrie Fernandes and Kenny himself.
The other singers in this album, which is presented by Kevin Santosh Nazareth, are Succorine, Titta Pretto, Maryann D'souza, Betty Naz, Augustine Coelho, Carrie Fernandes, Sheanella Miranda and Kenny. Music is by Day Breakers, the only Goan band in Mumbai.
Kenny has dedicated this album to all Konkani artistes for their service to the Konkani language and culture, while it is a tribute to his parents,late Michael and Theresa Zuzarte and his uncle and aunt Louis and Rose Vaz.
The audio CD priced at Rs150 and is available at all leading outlets that store Konkani related materials, in Mumbai, Goa and Mangalore.
