Mangalore, Feb 12: "The moral values we set for others in modern way of living help us and the society to reach new heights," was the message from diocesan vicar general Monsignor Fred V Pereira, while inaugurating a rally for children of 9-13 age group on Sunday morning in the Bendur church hall. The camp was organized by the Infant Jesus Pontifical Society, under lead of Fr Francis D'Souza.
The highlights of inaugural function was a welcome by music band trained by Sr Lily Pinto of Kulur, competitions and songs with Fr Charles Menezes in the lead, Bible quiz, a talk by Fr J B Crasta, Mass offered by Fr Denis D'Sa and a play 'Help from Children to Children' presented by Sr Louella's troupe. Bendur parish priest Fr Peter Noronha also spoke on the occasion.
About 700 children, 40 animators and media representatives took part in the day-long rally. Fr Francis welcomed the gathering. Oliver D'Souza Angelore, Kiran Vas and Nishel D'Souza compered the programme.
Valedictory function will be held with diocesan chancellor Fr Denis Moras Prabhu gracing the occasion. The participants hailed rom Bendur, Angelore, Rosario, Derebail, Fermai, Bondel, Urwa, Cascia, Bajal, Omzoor, Kulur, Vamanjoor, Neermarga, Kelarai, Cordel, Valencia, Ashoknagar, Jeppu, Shaktinagar, Bijai and Milagres parishes.
