Dubai, Sep 21: ‘Udyavarites’, the association of Udyavara parishioners residing in UAE, celebrated ‘Monti Fest’ and ‘Novem Jevaan’ at Bangalore Empire Restaurant Banquet Hall, Karama, here on Friday September 20.
The day program commenced with a hymn sung by talented kids followed by Bible reading.
President Gilbert D’sa welcomed the audience. He thanked the sponsors and well wishers for supporting and strengthening Udyavarites for the last 13 years and requested them to continue the generosity in future. He said, their gesture has encouraged the committee members to work hard and provide educational and medical help to the needy back home in Udyavara. Thus, fulfilling the mission of Udyavarites.
The main part of venerating and glorifying infant Mother Mary was carried out as per religious custom with children proceeding in a procession and showering flowers, to the rhythm of ‘Sakkad Sangatha Melyam’ and ‘Mariyek Hogolsiam”. It was a blessed ambience when whole audience joined the beat. The traditional ‘Novem’ was blessed by guest parishioner, Godfrey (Master) D’Souza. He invoked God’s blessing for the well-being of all.
As Monti Fest is a feast of family and togetherness, the cultural and entertainment programme was based on that theme. Various groups were formed based on parish wards. The wards that performed were Piad A, Piad B, Piad C, Saud, Carmel, Conception and Fathima. As many members belonging to the wards participated actively in the stage show. The stage performances ranged from singing, music, solo and group dance (Bollywood medley) and skits.
Veteran artists Jeffery, Vivian, Gilbert, Robert, Joacky, Clement along with many new kids and elders showcased their talent and offered total entertainment. Fabella D’Souza enthralled all with her melodious songs thought out the day. The audience was participative and was kept engaged with several games and spot prizes. They thoroughly enjoyed the whole day.
Dinner was traditional treat of fish curry and variety of vegetables and Vorn from the kitchen of Bangalore Empire. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the audience of about 200 enjoyed it to the full and expressed their satisfaction and gave positive reviews.
The program was compered by Robert, Mariet and Jenifer. All committee members extended their maximum cooperation and support for the success.
