New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS): A photography exhibition on the Russia-assisted Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu opened at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture here Friday.
The photography exhibition titled 'Anushakti Atma - Generating Peace for Future', was earlier put up in Chennai, Tiruchirappalli and Thiruvananthapuram. It is on in the national capital till Dec 6.
The promoters are the State Atomic Energy Corporation of Russia “Rosatom” and the representative office of the Federal Agency “Rossotrudnichestvo” in India (Russian Centres of Science and Culture in New Delhi, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram).
The special serial of photos is dedicated to the construction of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant - a key project of the Russian-Indian cooperation which will soon start generating electricity for the south Indian region.
Kudankulam NPP is one of the main strategic projects of the Russian-Indian cooperation. Electricity generation from the first and second Units of Kudankulam NPP will provide with the power supply more than 20 million homes in the Southern regions, said a press release from the Russian embassy here.
