Mangalore, May 6: The city received a sumptuous treat with Chinnara Bimba, the children's wing of Mumbai-based Kala Jagatu, performing various dances and dramas depicting the culture and heritage of coastal district at Town Hall here on Friday May 5.
Nearly 100 children enthralled the audience with bhajans, yakshagana, bhootas, Hulivesha and other forms of Tulu culture. Certain verses of the Bhagavadgita were also recited.
The children's wing president Naina P Bhandary and joint secretary Darshan Shetty offered explanations in Kannada and Tulu, much to the delight of the audience.
The programme was attended by minister for fisheries, horticulture ad Endowment B Nagaraj Shetty, Kala Jagatu honorary president Prakash Bhandary, president Vijay Kumar Shetty, Sandesha Foundation director Denis D'Sa, Mangalore TP president Gokuldas Shetty, film maker Richard Castelino and artiste Jayalaxmi Alva.
