Madhya Pradesh: 22-year-old married woman raped, paraded naked in public

Raisen, MP, mar 19 (PTI): A twenty two-year-old married woman was not only raped by a muscleman, but also paraded naked in public, after she revealed the incident to villagers at Kachikanakheda village, near the historic Sanchi town in the district, the police said on Wednesday.

The accused, Saudan Singh (40), had raped the woman two days ago while she attended nature’s call and threatened her not to reveal the incident to anyone, Sanchi police station in-charge Purnendra Singh said.

However, when the woman protested and revealed the incident to the people, the accused entered her residence forcibly and disrobed her, after which he pulled her out of her house by her hair.

When villagers who gathered at the spot, gave her clothes to cover herself, the accused disrobed her once again.
Later, her husband reached the spot and took her inside the house, the police said.

The victim then reported the matter to the police, after which he was arrested on Tuesday and produced before a court, which sent him to jail under judicial custody.

The police also seized the survivor’s torn clothes from the spot, the police said.

Moral Polices are just for poking their nose into others personal matter, freedom. They can only beat women or partying students. But they don't dare to question big shots, stop illegal activities.

Either they show off in the name of 'saviours of culture' or they carry out attacks out of frustration.

There should not be politics, when condemning such heinous crime.
But, just want to remind Daiji readers, MP is currently ruled by the BJP.

    To all BJP supporters,
Pls keep an eye on criminal activities in Gujrat, Goa, MP etc also, instead of just concentrating on Congress ruled states.

The marriageable age for girls is 18th as per Indian rule of Law. If married prior to that age, she and he are binding by the law. A girl can attain puberty at the age of 9-12 which means the menstrual period starts. But to bear mother hood, she needs considerable growth for herself in mind, body and soul without which she cannot give growth to another child growing in herself supposedly conceived accidentally or by a juvenile. There are very few cases a girl between the ages of 9-15 bore children and those girls regretted later for conceiving early.

Wiseness of men and women should prevail and not the lust of sex. There is a certain age for marriage.
There are cases of men who have raped boys. The daily news is evidence. Rape is punishable even if a man rapes boys or girls.
We have to support and protect the girls in this age of families liking only males for their inheritance. The law gives equal rights of inheritance to both men and women.
The females are suffering since humans existed in this world and in this 21st century, we have to put an end to mindless rapes in India and around the world.

Here is a great test and question for us men.
We have to search our own soul and if we see below quote how many of us have committed adultery.
I quote from the Holy Bible MATTHEW 5:28 BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT WHOSOEVER LOOKETH ON A WOMAN TO LUST AFTER HER HATH COMMITTED ADULTERY WITH HER ALREADY IN HIS HEART.Unquote.

Thank you Mr. Gonsalves for these very beautiful words of wisdom.

If at all there is a method (instilled in those who advocate marriage at 18) to refrain from giving her a pregnancy before 20, I have no complaints at all !

But in our society a new bride is expected to be carried in the next year of marriage failing to which she invites taunts and threats from her in-laws of the second marriage of their son with another girl. Fearing this, she refuses to use contraceptive or any other method of family planning.

As such, the best is to contain girls' marriage till she is 20. Well, social changes take generations, it does not happen overnight. However, if the girls subjected to sexual abuse like what has been happening around, I wonder how many girls will be alive at all ?

Women's battle never ends. It starts in the womb. If it found to be female, it is aborted. At all it survived, they are subjected to gender discrimination and finally sexual abuse.

I hope what I am and have been saying is understood in the way it should be.

    Dear Lydia Lobo, Kadri,

I agree to the age of the pregnancy to be 20. It depends on couples' perceptions after their marriage and not a direction and dictation from in-laws. The marriageable age 18 was to the general public as per Indian Laws. Supposedly after marriage if she becomes pregnant by chance what will you suggest going for fetus abortion. No government in this world will make a law that the pregnancy age should be 20 and I don’t suggest for abortion. Of course contraceptives are useful, but there are also cases of failures and injuries to health of a female.
The best method is to follow natural safety days rather than using contraceptives if both men and women have self control.

I have concern for girls when they are teenagers all eyes of men upon them.

God should protect our young girls and boys at this adolescent age, they are really frustrated and naïve.

May God bless them and all of us abundantly to sustain/ prevail, self control, wisdom and knowledge in the name of Jesus Amen.

    Dear Lydia Lobo, Kadri,
I quote yours: But in our society a new bride is expected to be carried in the next year of marriage failing to which she invites taunts and threats from her in-laws of the second marriage of their son with another girl. Fearing this, she refuses to use contraceptive or any other method of family planning. Unquote.

Yes. This is a social evil of every community. They taunt the girl if she is not pregnant within a year. This taunt is not to become pregnant immediately, but the in-laws taut whether she can have a genealogy or she is an impotent.

THIS A VERY BAD MENTALITY AND PERCEPTION IN OUR SOCIETY.

Also now a day’s many of our females are fashionably wanted only one child. That too they don’t want but they wanted to show to the public that they are not barren yet to show that they have a guarantee.

See the Difference between congress and BJP.

Congress doesn't want political mileage from this type of emotional issues.

But the BJP's foundation itself is based on emotional issues, riots etc.

If it is congress ruling state just think how BJP,Paid media would have reacted?? Because its BJP ruling state everything calm and quiet.

Let us pray for speedy recovery for that victim

Leave it anyway, we will never be able to understand women and their emotions. They always want their ways and think they're right, but every time they do something it turns the opposite way. When they're wrong, they say it's a mistake, but when men do something wrong that act as if the world will end if they don't fix it up.

Here the age for marriage is not our concern. Just because this lady is poor it does not mean she should be raped and attacked by any rogue. This issue should be highlighted and harsh punishment should be given to this insane muscleman Singh. All the rapists should be hanged in public in future, this way we can get rid of the sick people and our women can live peacefully.

Straight away take this case seriously and ensure he is punished severely so that nobody else get the courage to think of such action. whole nation should support such utions. then only such evil elements will be cleaned up from the society. Yes, we need a Govt with a hard stick in hand to rule us now. Really. Or else we will end up in a disaster stage of our country.

My very first concern about this article is the fact that this lady was 22 and married, are you serious? Marrying at 22 is rushing the process. Although I do understand that this may have been a arrange marriage 22 and married is a problem there and then. I know this article is not about her being 22 and married, but to me this is an issue. Rushing into marriage is not at all a good decision, especially when your whole life depends on it one way another.

    Common Linnet,

For you the age at what a girl should be married is a question, but here here a woman had gone to attend a nature's call (lets say defecate) where a man catches her and rapes ?? How do you expect girls to be safe until a age you think is suitable to get married ?

There are no toilets in or around their houses - what should women do ? Potty practice ?? Height of cruelty !

My daughter is 27, she has been in a relationship with the boy for 2 years, she got engaged to him in January and now wants to marry him in August is it alright for her to get married then or would you say that she is too young and this is an issue to you?

Now let me come to the main issue,
Only way to punish this guy is, people should gather together and stone this person to death. Legal procedure will take many years. This is the best option.
