Patna, Jul 6: Singer Udit Narayan on Wednesday July 5, was given 15 days by the Bihar Women's Commission for a reconciliation with Ranjana Jha, who claims to be his first wife.
The Commission also asked him not to leave the country during the period.
''I have granted the prayer of Udit Narayan's counsel to extend the date for appearance of the singer and for effecting a reconciliation between the couple as Rajana had no objection,” said Commission chairperson Manju Prakash Prakash.
“His counsel and the complainant have told the Commission that the process of reconciliation was proceeding in the right direction,'' she added.
Udit Narayan had flown to Patna on June 30 for a reconciliation with Ranjana after the Commission had threatened to have an arrest warrant issued against him if 'meaningful reconciliation' was not achieved.
As Ranjana had told the Commission following the meeting that talks were moving in the right direction, it had asked the singer to appear before it on Wednesday.
