Warm, sunny Monday in Delhi, Tuesday to be similar


New Delhi, May 26 (IANS): The national capital experienced a sunny and warm Monday after the city was lashed by rains Sunday evening. The Met Office has forecast clear weather Tuesday.

"The skies will remain clear tomorrow (Tuesday) and there is no forecast of rain. The afternoon will be hot," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 39 and 24 degrees Celsius.

Overnight rains brought down the soaring temperatures. Though Monday's maximum temperature settled four notches below the season's average at 36.4 degrees Celsius, the day was hot and humid as the maximum humidity was recorded at 83 percent.

The morning was pleasant and the minimum temperature settled six notches below average at 21.4 degrees Celsius.

Sunday's maximum temperature was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded two notches below the season's average at 24.2 degrees Celsius.
