Bantara sangha disperses funds to community students for education

Mumbai, June 4: The education and social welfare committee of Bantara Sangha, Mumbai held their tenth annual programme of dispersal of funds for education of their community students on Sunday June 1.

The programme was held on Sunday morning in the Radhabai Thimmappa Bhandary hall of Bantara Bhavana at Kurla east. The programme was sponsored by the managing director of Charisma Builders Sudhir V Shetty in memory of late Vasu K Shetty. The programme was presided by president C A Shanker B Shetty.


K P Raghuvanshi, director of Maharashtra state security corporation, was the chief guest and inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp.

Raghuvanshi inaugurated the newly constructed Srimathi Pramoda Shivarama podium of Satkar residency at the basement of Bantara
Sangha. Speaking on the occasion, he said that wealth and income is an indivisible part of human life. He said, "Everybody does it and should do it. However when we part with a portion of our earnings with the needy in the society, the value of our earnings multiplies."

“I am a police officer and have not given much importance to meditation and religion. It is not our religion. We will have value
based lives when we live as Indians. Just because I am from a farmer's family, it does not mean that I do not know poverty. Everybody is aware of it and we should do away with negative thoughts in order to get rid of it. The Bunts are able to hold programmes such as these due to positive thinking. The amount paid by way of donation is valuable. Spend a portion of your earnings for contribution and repay the loan to the society", he added.

Sudhakar S Hegde, CEO and managing director of Thunga Hotel group of companies and architect of social welfare programmes, Charishma Builders managing director Sudhir V Shetty, CEO of Jasmine Group of companies, Kalyan Dr Surendra V Shetty and other dignitaries arrived as guests of honour.

They distributed scholarships to hundreds of students, adopted and distributed cash to the physically challenged students deprived of education due to their disabilities and monthly assistance to widows.

As every year, hundreds of students of society and thousands of beneficiaries present received aid from the dignitaries. The guests
spoke on context and wished the students well. 

President C A Shetty felicitated Dr Surendra V Shetty, CEO of Jasmine Group of Companies and recent recipient of doctorate in
Malaysia and donors of the recently constructed mini hall of the Bantara Sangh.

Honorary treasurer Satish N Shetty, joint treasurer Pravin B Shetty, women's wing president Lata P Shetty, youth wing president Shivaprasad Shetty, Panduranga Shetty, vice president of committee of education and social welfare, Nagriguthu Vivek Shetty, treasurer C A Ramesh and others were present on the occasion.

Mala Shetty led the prayer. Mahesh S Shetty, president of education and social welfare committee welcomed and gave the key note address. The programme concluded with prayer and bantageethe.

Vice president of the sangha Vishwanatha Shetty and honorary chief secretary C A Sadashiva B Shetty introduced the guests. Ashok Pakkala compeered the programme. Joint secretary Ulthoor Mohandas Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

Talented artiste groups with eyesight problems presented a special musical programme titled 'Akiyonke Jaronkose' produced by Sohan
