Doha, Jun 16: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a premier organization of Kannadiga expatriates from the south Indian state of Karnataka has been involved in several socio-cultural and philanthropic activities. Once again in line with Karnataka Sangha Qatar’s commitment to environmental protection, "World Environment Day Celebration by Planting Saplings" was organized by the sangha at Galfar Asphalt Plant Mesaieed.
Eventhough the morning was hot and windy, 150 members and supporters participated with their families.
Deepak Shetty, the president of KSQ, while expressing his gratitude for those who attended the noble service, highlighted Karnataka Sangha's efforts in creating environmental awareness among the community and children.
Hemachandran, the senior general manager, Galfar Al Misnad was the chief guest. Appreciating the initiatives of Karnataka Sangha, he said that it was the right step in the right direction.
N Ravindran, the senior project manager, Galfar, Mahesh Gowda, the general secretary and Sandesh Anand, the charity and special events coordinator were on the dais.
Subramanya Hebbagilu, the membership coordinator compered and he was also instrumental in arranging the event.
Jt Logistics coordiantor Murulidhar Rao briefly spoke about the importance of protecting the environment.
