Mumbai, Jul 23: Though mid-way through his shooting for BR Chopra's Baabul in London, Amitabh Bachchan says he will definitely be in India during wife Jaya's swearing-in ceremony as Rajya Sabha member once again.

The swearing-in, scheduled for Monday, is a big moment that he cannot miss.

And Bachchan plans to make the impossible happen. He flies out of London for barely 48 hours just to share the important moment in his wife's life.

"I leave for Mumbai on Sunday, then proceed to Delhi to attend Jaya's swearing-in ceremony. Then I am back immediately after on Tuesday in London to resume the shooting of Baabul," Bachchan said from London.

Samajwadi Party MP Jaya was disqualified from the Rajya Sabha in March over simultaneously holding an office of profit as chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Corporation. She resigned from the Uttar Pradesh body. In June, she was re-elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha.

Unfortunately, son Abhishek won't be able to leave Durban where the tightly packed schedule for the climax of Sanjay Gadhvi's Dhoom 2 is being shot.

After completing his London schedule, Bachchan returns to Mumbai on July 28 to attend to other pending assignments.

How does he manage it?

"You must understand work is his god. You cannot take his work away from him. Sure he has had a health setback. But he knows he can't take it easy. To him that would mean a kind of defeat that he can't take," one of Bachchan’s keenest admirers and friends said.

"Amit-ji has today outdone every legend of show business in the country. He is still comparatively young. And look at the energy level. Look at how he matches steps with Aishwarya Rai and his son in Kajra re," noted lyricist and filmmaker, Gulzar said.

As usual Bachchan is nonchalant at the observations and said, "I don't sit and think about how much I have done. There is too much to do. A commitment is a commitment. As long as I am getting good work I'll continue.”

"After this schedule of Baabul, I am again back to London at the end of August. As for Jaya's swearing into the Rajya Sabha, there is no way I'd miss that,” Bachchan said.
