Mangalore, Aug 2: Mangalore, literally meaning the 'City of Felicity', is regarded as one of the fastest growing cities in Karnataka.
As is common with any growing city, the juggernaut of real estate development has rolled its way in the most obvious and far-reaching way. What once, say, fifty years ago, was a green garden has now turned into a concrete jungle, specially so in downtown Mangalore.
The heart of the city is now adorned by high-rises, malls and complexes. Of course, there are exceptions in the peripheral areas, which provide a lovely lush green view from the top of the Kadri Hill.
The pictures shown here can provide those who left our shores in search of greener pastures years ago with a good mental exercise, with guesswork on the locations and also the positions from where the pics have been clicked.
