Mangalore, Aug 9: A 23-year-old Hindu person of Surinje has been accused of kidnapping a 17-year-old Muslim girl recently.

Fathima Ruksana (17), daughter of Abdul Khadar of Surinje Kote is said to have been kidnapped by her neighbour Ganesh Shetty (23) while she was on her way to house from one of her relative's house at Krishnapura on July 30.

However, some reports said that Ruksana was in love with Ganesh.  But her parents had opposed their marriage. So it is said that both of them have eloped.  It is also said that they have already got married.  Ganesh is working in a restaurant in Goa.

Since Ruksana has not yet attained the age of 18, both of them cannot get marry legal.  Though they have eloped together, owing to Ruksana's minor age, it will be considered as a kidnap case by the law.

Accordingly, Ruksana's father Abdul Khadar has now filed a kidnap case against Ganesh in the Suratkal police station.
