Online delivery of fire safety certificates in Delhi


New Delhi, July 21 (IANS): The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) will start issuing fire safety certificates online to buildings and set up a help desk, an official said Monday.

In the DFS's action plan for 2014-15, the Delhi government has also approved two more fire stations.

"The DFS will soon start an online delivery of the fire safety certificates and also start an online service for standby duty," said G.L. Meena, who is special secretary (home).

"We have asked the DFS to actively enforce field inspections and also to establish 'May I Help You' desk at the headquarters," Meena added.

Besides, it will also educate people about fire preventions and safety guidelines.

"We will conduct two workshops to impart training to architects and engineers, local building authorities on techno-legal framework for the submission of building plans." Meena said.
