Eight people arrested for drunken brawl in Delhi

New Delhi, July 26 (IANS): Eight people, including two women, were Friday arrested for indulging in a drunken brawl near a five star hotel in central Delhi here, police said Saturday.

A group of five people, aged between 20 and 25 years, had come to a birthday party at the hotel located in the Parliament Street area of central Delhi late Friday night.

They had parked their two cars near the hotel that was objected to by a resident, Sidhartha Sanewal and his two friends, Manpreet and Kunal, all in their early 20s.

This led to a fight between the two groups whose members were in an inebriated condition.

Two women and Sanewal received minor injuries. The women's friends -- Naveen, Mayur and Nikhil -- also received minor lacerations.

After being alerted, police reached the spot and took them into custody after a medical examination.
