Puttur, Aug 18: A thirty-five-year-old person from Shirady near Nelyadi here who had been working in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the last 10 years was killed in a tragic road accident recently.

Shibu Manthew (35), a resident of Ogamattathil House and son of the late P V Mathew and Taramma Mathew was working as accountant supervisor in a company based at Riyad.  He had sustained serious injuries when the car he was driving had met with an accident on June 24.  He was on his way back home after the work when the accident had taken place.

Following critical injuries, he had been admitted to a hospital in Riyad.  However, he succumbed to the injuries on July 5.

However, neither his wife nor any of his family members knew about this.  They were in for a big shock when the heard the news only a few days ago.  His body was brought to his native place on Thursday August 17 via Mumbai.

Sources said that his funeral will be held on Friday August 18 at 1-00 pm at St Peter and Paul Jacobites Church at Shirady.

Shibu Mathew is survived by his wife Manju Shibu Mathew, five-year-old daughter Milna, brother Shyam Mathew, an engineer in Oman and a sister.
