Manipal, Sep 11: Ravinder Singh (22), hailing from Faridabad in Haryana, ended his life by hanging himself in his Nehru Block hostel room in the Kasturba Medical College complex here on Sunday, September 10.

The Manipal police, speaking to Daijiworld, said that while his two companions sharing the same room had gone out around 6 pm,he stayed back in the room alone. When his friends returned arond 9-15 pm they found the room locked from inside.

The stereo music was being played loudly and the water taps were reportedly on when they arrrived . Since he did not respond to their calls for a long time, the authorities were informed and the door was broken open.

The police say the suicide might have taken place anytime between 6 pm and 9 pm.

Informed sources said he had left a suicide note about certain problems he was facing, while also expressing concern that his parents had been spending heavily on his education.
