Thrissur Infopark gets ready for new companies

Kochi, Sep 10 (IANS): Infopark Thrissur, developed as one of the two satellite centres of Infopark Kochi under the hub and spoke model, is all set to get new companies as its brand new 3.3 lakh sq ft IT block will open by March 2015.

Currently, the park houses 29 companies with around 600 employees.

"The park has received around dozen advance bookings for office space at the new building which, when completed, will generate an additional 3,000-plus employment," said Infopark CEO Hrishikesh Nair.

Nair added that major expansion plans by start-ups and mid segment-IT firms at the campus are also fuelling the growth of the park, which is situated amidst the lush green surroundings of Koratty, located about 20 km from the Kochi airport.

"It is encouraging to see that the companies are expanding and are looking for new growth avenues. The work on the new 3.3 lakh sq ft IT block is progressing and it is expected to be ready for operations by March 2015," added Nair.

"The Infopark brand, the park's proximity to Cochin international airport and the national highway are the major factors that drew us to establish business here," said Hari Krishnan, Co-founder of ZineMind Technologies Private Limited, a software firm catering to some of the big names in the business world like Siemens, Bosch and Bombardier.

"Thrissur has a number of engineering colleges and we have been able to get the right people," said P.K. Mohanakannan, business head at Nuvento Systems Private Limited.
