Kuwait, Sep 20: It was a joyous day for Pangalites in Kuwait as they celebrated the feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary on Friday September 15.

Around 150 Pangalites along with their friends celebrated the birthday of Mother Mary, popularly known to us as ‘Monti Fest ‘on the greenery lawns of Salmiyah Garden.

The programme began with opening prayer led and hymn led by Clara D'Souza and George D'Souza.  Thereafter 'novem' (blessed corns) were distributed to all the gathered as a symbol of new harvest.

Various games were held for all sections of the gathering including 2 separate games of housie.   DJ Julian D’Mello entertained the gathering with his songs, jokes etc.

Frederick Quadros, the president, spoke on the relevance of the day.  He also reminded the members of the importance of education and fulfillment of commitment of PUU Fund, back home. Former president Pascal Pinto who is also an active member of several associations in Kuwait was the guest of honour.

Later in the delicious Monti Fest lunch (vegetarian) was served with special ‘Vorn’ which was enjoyed to the full by all.  The programme came to an end with distribution of prizes to the winners of various games.

Henry Castelino proposed the vote of thanks while Walter Fernandes welcomed and compered the programme.
