Mangalore, Nov 11: M K Arora, sales manager of Avon Cycle Ltd Ludhiana launched the battery-operated Avon E-Bike at a function held in Hotel Woodlands here on Saturday evening.

Sheikh Ismail Mubeen welcomed the gathering on behalf of the local dealers, Taj Cycle Company. Preetika compered the function.

Besides, Arora, Avon Cycles' sales executive Hardeep Singh and Taj Cycles' managing partner Muthalib S M were on the dais.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Muthalib said the Taj Cycle Company was founded in Mangalore by the family patriarch the late Ismail in 1927.

This E-bike operates on battery and it has been launched for the first time in Karnataka. Mangalore has the credit of seeing its very first launch in the state.

Muthalib further said it needed no fuel, no registration, no licence and it would cause no noise or emission pollution. It only needs battery recharge. On every recharge, it would run 55 kms, Muthalib said further.

With a terrain of ups and downs, this city may find this bicycle a real boon.
