Mangaluru, Jul 14: A workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Health Technology Assessment, supported by NIH (Grant no. 1R25TW010305) NCE was organised by the Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) from June 16 to 18.

The chief resource person is an international faculty, Prof Bert Gordijn, professor and director, Institute of Ethics, Dublin City University, Ireland. In addtion, Dr Vina Vaswani, director, Centre for Ethics and Akuma Ifeanyichukwu, SRF Centre for Ethics also took sessions.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Lakshmikanth Chatra (principal, Yenepoya Dental College, Mangaluru). The topics covered were ethics of AI in publications, dementia care and research, among others. The documentaries in relation to the topics were also shown to the participants. The program was successfully conducted in hybrid mode.

Since it was in hybrid mode, 16 participants from the University and from its international collaborating institutions, comprising various disciplines benefited from this workshop. The participants clarified their doubts and all appreciated the sessions specially group interactions of case studies and documentaries. The programme was wrapped up with a vote of thanks and distribution of appreciation certificate to the resource person and delegates, followed with a group photograph.
