Islamabad, Dec 17 (IANS): The deadlock in the negotiations between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and the government has ended with the PTI all set to meet government negotiators Wednesday evening.

Following the meeting between the two negotiating teams at former interior minister Rehman Malik's residence, the leaders of both sides announced the news. Malik is a negotiator on behalf of the government.

Addressing the media, Malik said that PTI negotiators will meet with the government team at 8 p.m. at the residence of Jehangir Tareen, secretary general of PTI, The News reported.

PTI's vice-president, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, confirmed that his party would take part in direct talks with the government again, adding that his party was ready to move forward with a positive attitude.

Leader of the government negotiating team, and chief of the Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Siraj-ul Haq, told journalists that they were trying to bring the two parties closer, adding that they have met with "70 percent success".
