Sullia, Mar 3: One person was killed and 7 others including 6 women were injured, when a vehicle rolled down a gorge near Devarakolli here on Friday March 2 night.

As of now, the identity of either the deceased or the injured is not established.  However, sources claimed that the deceased was the driver of the ill-fated Tata Sumo vehicle which met with the accident, while the passengers travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries.

All the persons are said to be the residents of Mysore who had come to visit and offer puja at Subrahmanya Temple.  They were on their way back to Mysore when the vehicle they were travelling rolled down from the road on a steep curve near Devarakolli on Mani-Mysore state highway.

The injured were initially admitted to the hospital here but were later shifted to private hospitals in Mangalore and Mysore.
