Mangalore, Mar 31: "Every human being should have good knowledge and sense about religion. This will certainly remove the abnormality in the society," said Shree Sugunendrateetra Swamiji of Puttige Math.
He was addressing the gathering from Brahmiri Vedike at Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple on Friday March 30 evening during on the second day of religious discourses as preparation for the Brahmakalashotsava and Nagamandala celebrations of Kateel Temple.
Noted writer, actor Udyavara Madhava Acharya delivered a talk on "Life and Religious Sense" on Friday. Dwelling lengthily on the subject he said that every human being has a religious sense within him from his birth. "But it depends on each individual as how he or she develops it further. However, to some extent we are blind to certain things pertaining to our religion and faith. We individually and collectively as members of the society are in search of spiritual light. Religious values are universal since religion is the backbone of our society," he added.
Kateel temple priest Kamaladeviprasad Asranna, Mandarthi temple priest H Dhananjay Shetty, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Seetaram Kulal, Brahmakalashotsava Cultural Committee president Dr Mohan Alva were also present on the dais.
After the religious discourse cultural programmes were held. Pandit Jayateertha Mevundi entertained the audience with Carantic vocal music while Padmini Ramchandran's dance programme "Navarasa Nayaka" was appreciated by each and everyone.
