Mumbai, Apr 7: Preity Zinta's link-ups with Bombay Dyeing heir Ness Wadia is a known thing, and so it came as a shock when Suchitra Krishnamurthy accused the damsel of the reason behind her break-up with former husband Shekhar Kapur.

Suchitra, who was facing problems in her married life for a long time got divorced in February, and now holds Preity responsible for the split.

It was in an explosive interview that Suchitra had revealed the name of Preity. Though Preity initially maintained a dignified silence, the chirpy girl couldn't keep her cool for too long and came in the open saying, "Its unfortunate that I'm bearing the brunt of someone else's paranoia. It clearly shows that Suchitra is unstable and I wish her a speedy recovery."

This is not a sudden development as Suchitra has made unflattering references to Preity earlier on her blog, also referring to her as a 'man-eater' in one of her poems.

It is strange that Preity should be linked with Kapoor, as the only relation we are aware of is that Shekhar was supposed to launch Preity in Ta Ra Rum Pum years ago, which of course did not work out.

Preity on her part says that she hasn't met the filmmaker in years though she does keep in touch with him oft and on.

Suchitra says that it was her instincts that told her Shekhar was having an affair with Preity and was apparently very devastated about the break up and even contemplated suicide. However, it was the thought of her little daughter Cauvery that stopped her from taking such a step.

What irks Suchitra is the fact that Preity had the guts to call her up and offer an explanation, and even asked why she was slurring her reputation.

Wonder how much truth there is in Suchitra's allegations? Is she correct, or is she just on the lookout for a scapegoat?
